On 21 Dec 2021, the general office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) in China issued a letter soliciting opinions on the adoption of phase-out measures for 4 highly toxic pesticides, including phorate, isofenphos-methyl, isocarbophos and ethoprophos. The deadline for comment is 21 Jan 2022.
According to the annoucement, the registrations and production licenses for 4 highly toxic pesticides, including phorate, isofenphos-methyl, isocarbophos and ethoprophos will be revoked from 1 Mar 2022. Their sales and use will be completely banned from 1 March 2024.
