China's CFSA Collects Public Comments on One New Food Raw Material

On June 14, 2024, the China National Center for Food Safety Evaluation (CFSA) issued one new food raw material, stevia leaf polyphenols, for public comment. Comments are welcomed before July 14, 2024. Details are as follows:

Brief introduction of the production process

Prepared through ethanol extraction, filtration, concentration, drying, and other processes by using stevia as the raw material.

Recommended use level

≤500 mg/day (as total polyphenols)

Other information

1. The labels and instructions must bear a statement indicating that they should not be consumed by infants, pregnant and breastfeeding women, along with other unsuitable persons, and include the maximum level.
